Sagaris / T350 - why is the heating system so crude?

Ok, I've had the Sag for a few months now but I haven't needed to demist the screen until recently.
Does the screen demist really consist of leaning forwards and rotating the nearest top vent to point at the screen, and then doing it again a little while later cos vibrations have caused it to rotate away again on its own?
On the Chimaera there was a dial for splitting air between "upper" (ie. the screen) and "lower" (ie. the vents). I can't find anything like that on the Sag.

Hi,
I found putting some (i.e. lots) of silicon gel packets stops alot of the mist before it occurs (by drying out the inside of the car,so only mosture u bring in can turn become mist)..
The air-con seems to keep things good for me, but most people dont like driving with a cool interior in the autumn/winter months.
