Kirkby-in-Ashfield 4.5
Discussion
I have been looking to buy a chim for a while and keep meaning to take a look at one being sold by Autocentre (www.autocentrekirkby.co.uk/autocentre.htm) just outside nottingham. A good deal or a dog? Seems a good deal for a 97 4.5 but it has been for sale for quite a long time. As its quite a jaunt up to that part of the country I want to check in case anyone has already looked at it.
Looks and sounds OK from the description, you'd have to see it of course to make sure
Could you live with that colour combination though? The yellow is quite nice but matched with the red ... ?!
There are some in the classified on this site which are a lot closer to home ...

Sorry for the shamelss plug

This is 5 mins from us. We went to see it and got told "the boss has taken it windsurfing"
The place is a bit 'back street motas' and has got mostly ordinary cars. The 'warranty' is for a month BTW!
One of the other chaps on here (
Raceboy) basically said don't touch it with a very long bargepole! Best to go wth a specialist TVR dealer or look privately and get a dealer to do the check for you. Do some searching on this and the general TVR forum and you will find loads of good info. Also buy the 'bible' from the TVR car club site. www.tvrcc.com (can't give you the link at the moment as NTL are messing about

The car 'may' be a lovely car, all I'll say publicly is the dealer is a little shaddy
treat it like a private buy, check everything yourself, get your own HPi check and check the history with Blackpool
The dealer is definatly not a TVR specialist, dealing mainly in tired tarted up Merc/Bm's and everyday cars, if you want any more info drop me a line
It was on the forecourt on Friday when I drove past
