has anybody built their own garden shed? i have looked at a ready made summer house /garden shed.trouble is its 6.5 k plus they want 1 k to erect it. i am a capable diyer and cannot see it costing that much or being too difficult. opinions please, my tools need to live together.

you are a man. build it yourself, you know you want to!

previous experience not required for any man project.

£6.5k?! All the materials for our extension have barely come to that - the timber to build the entire roof and all floor joists only came to £750.

If you're not already the proud owner of a spirit level, building your own shed might be a bit... interesting biggrin

Post pictures!

P.S. The sort of size 6.5K buys you might mean you have to consider planning permission. Beware, or your council might make you pull it back down again.

hehe that's what I thought but then, you should see the blunt spoon he's planning on cutting the timber up with.

funnily enough i needed a new blade for my circular saw so i went to b&q . it was cheaper to buy a new saw than a blade from them
