More 2010 Mustang Pics
Now we get to see inside the new 'Stang...
Ford is the latest carmaker to start drip-feeding images and details about its new cars - and today we have been treated to a shot of the new Mustang's dash. Like automotive ffotball stickers we already had the front section of the bronze 2010 model, then the middle bit, and now we have the inside shot.
It was a simple case of adding the bits together to reveal...well, to reveal what looks like a Mustang really. The car is to make its first public appearance at November's LA Auto Show. Inside the car looks similar to the current model, but has been updated.
Overall the updated model will have similar proprtions but will be designed to look smaller. Speaking with Automotive News, Ford’s North American design director, Peter Horbury, said the new car’s lines have been designed to make it look as though the wheels are 'further out, further forward and further rearward'.

Oddly enough, I've got no time for ignorant, sweeping generalisations either.

I hope you don't mind if I have no time for the opinion of someone who is "bowled over" by an X-Type 2.0D SE

Nice.
te. I've got no time for soft wallowing refried bunk. How are your plastic cars with Buick engines?
Clearly never driven a new Mustang, or even been a passenger in one, and just regurgitating popular opinions propagated by the ignorant. IF US cars are so terrible, how come the ZR1 can lap the Nurburgring in 7:26? Anyway.. the Mustang is a GT car, not a track weapon... grow up.
Personally... I don't like the interior for 2 reasons. A) It's lost that retro feel the S197 had, and just become kind of corporate... generic. B) They've built the head unit into the dash making it almost impossible to fit a third party unit (which you may want to do because of the US FM tuning issues)
As for the exterior: I like the front end, but the rear end is awful! They've tried to make it look less fat by adding black plastic molding along the bottom which at best makes it looks like it's on stilts, and worst, like a Rover Streetwise or something!.. and the new rear lights suck as well.

Like I said though... the front is nice

Thanks for those additional photos. I must admit that they haven't been as adventurous as i thought they might be with the front end, as with only the minor tweaks, it still looks very much like the previous.
However, the overall shape of this looks good, and being a mustang fan, i would happily go for one of those over a challenger or camaro any day.
As for the previous comment regarding so called american s
te, if youre really that biased about particular regions/manufacturers, then (a) you shouldn't even bother commenting in these topics, knowing what reaction many members will have and (b) you should try driving these things and experiencing vehicles like these, which have advanced many years since the older opinions were that all american cars were heavy and sluggish.

I have to admit, I really lik the look of the current model, I have neither driven nor been in one so I have no idea what they drive like, but I wouldn't mind having a go!
I've never really considered an American motor before, I'd never say never though...

I like the front end, but I guess we'll have to wait until we see it in the flesh to make a real judgement on the rear.
If you want to see a whole bunch of Mustangs, you ought to consider coming to the Mustang International Show on the 4th and 5th of July. We've booked Mallory for a special weekend. The Mustang is 45 and the Mustang Club is 30.

Simple - get yourself along to a specialist and blag a test drive! Try a standard V8 GT and then some 'tweaked' versions (Roush or Saleen most likely).I have to admit, I really lik the look of the current model, I have neither driven nor been in one so I have no idea what they drive like, but I wouldn't mind having a go!

I guarantee you'll be hooked

There is some major kit in your stock listings! That Viper (sorry, SRT-10...) must be an impressive piece of kit, 8.3 litre V10... Does it do sub 5mpg? Like, on a run hehe
