48 hours (with a short break for sleep and breakfast) is how long it took me to recarpet my S2 this weekend

Black with black piping - very nice

I have seen posts here asking about templates etc. my advice would be: make sure you get some!

we didn't - hence it took ages!

but it looks the dogs nuts now

or maybe just still high off the many tins evostick...

Some bits came when I bought the car (the guy was about to embark on this himself) - the rest from good ol' B&Q!

did you get any templates sorted?

No - The footwells were rotted to death - came out in about 50,000 peices... hence no templates....

start at the back - that way the worst will be over first!

Fiddly bits round the seatbelts (top and bottom) but the tunnel and footwells were surprisingly easy, and the trim i got from woolies fits like the proverbial glove.

Good Luck!

How did you do that bit where the carpet is stitched together at the back
Did you just unstitch, use it as a template and then stitch the new bit? or is there an easier way?

Not quite sure which bit you mean Mart - do you mean the big 'T' shaped piece the goes verticall round the back, or the flat piped mat?

Piping and Glue seemed to be the solution for all my woes this weekend!

I mean the T shaped bit, it seems to be shaped around where the struts or something else comes up into the car

Jesus, just got back from the garage , this is going to take a while i think
You are right about the carper coming out in 50,000 pieces
Shame they did not make the rest of the car out of that bloody glue they used to stick down the carpets
I see quite a few more nights grafting ahead
Will be worth it tho
