Had mine powder coated satin black (silver car) looks good. Red / black is a good combo.

We had ours done a few months back in a very hi gloss silver. They look great however we regret having them darker. Like a powder black base with a couple of coats of high gloss silver just spayed across the surface not inside the rim. (i know what i mean) Thats what we'll be doing next.

Wasn't yours at My Alloys in Basingstoke recently was it?? There was a satin black set there when I had mine done..

You could get away with several colours on a Red car, not sure I'd go Gloss black, but satin would work, black chrome? (like the 6 LTR wheels).. gunmetal, would all look good.. How about Yellow if you want to stand out eek

No disrespect to those with black/dark grey wheels but I think the darker the wheel, the more the looks of the car are spoilt. Dark colours make the design of the wheel harder to distinguish and blend in with the black tyre so from not far away they give the appearance of a round black blob on each corner.

Just my humble opinion, each to his/her own.

I've had mine simply lacquered and it makes them look a lot nicer, somehow more complete compared to the std matt finish.

This pic doesn't really do them justice but it gives you an idea.

Do you like my stripey t-shirt too?

i prefer lighter colours too, though black can sometimes work with certain body colours.

gunmetal grey can work really well too!

I have had a set of standard CV8 wheels blasted and powder-coated silver, albeit a slightly darker shade than standard. The whole of the wheels were done, so I can keep the inner well clean more easily too. The finish is slightly dull until the sun is on them when they come to life.

The place I had them done could also obtain a paint with an almost chrome effect that I think would look smart without being tacky, so I may think about getting my other set done with that at some stage.

My car is silver, incidentally (and I don't care whether it is the 'fastest colour' or not).

Got mine done in charcoal metallic powdercoat and added charcoal HSV centre caps and black lug nut covers. Looks good when clean, tatty when dirty.
