yes

Don't keep trying to force it, you'll knacker the synchros. If the clutch has seized you can tell by starting it in gear with the clutch down and the brakes held on *very* firmly. If the clutch is working properly the engine will start as normal. If it has stuck on, the starter will try to move the car forwards - hence the need for the brakes. As well as diagnosing the problem, this is also probably your best bet to fix it, using the starter to jolt the clutch loose. Don't burn the starter out while you do it though.

a good trick is to get the engine right up to temp as the heat going through the flywheel will help to unstick it

did you let the engine get warm before you started it up in gear,

you could try jacking the back up and support it with stands and then try knocking it out off gear with out weight on the back axle or with the engine running.

I would suggest a forward gear, 4th would be best.

If it's stuck in gear it's probably because the transmission is loaded. Let the brakes off to allow the car to roll an inch and ease the load. Alternatively rock the car backwards and forwards to nudge the engine over and overcome the stiction, allowing it to release the load on the transmission. If there's still any load on you may need to pull it moderately hard to get it out of gear.
