something missing?

hey all,
should there be a plate of some sort under the rear section of the exhaust for protection or aditional support, there are bolt holes in the chassis but nothing there.......

Does this help?:



The rear box cover between the box and the underside of the body. One of the brackets is snapped on mine, as you can see. I assume this is what you're referring to...

If it's the centre section of the exhaust (straight section of the two pipes), then these have a chassis plate fitted over them that gives the chassis abit of support from flexing. If it is this that's missing, then I have a spare one sat in my garage you can have for free.

Is this plate a heat shield for the rear exhaust box? I don't have one on my car - not sure when it lost it but I was planning on making a new one.

no cad not that part that is the heat shield for back box, i'm looking further down the chassis where the bolts are, thanks anyhoo

I thought the heat shield was welded to the Exhaust back box not fitted to the car, mine was (is). One of the welds had broken and created a rattle however a tack of weld and all was good again.
