Advice please on camping

This year was my first and I've got the bug. Me and a girly friend stayed at Houx Annexe. It was a bit dusty and disjointed for me, so I want to up the stakes a little and stay in a private site with better facilities and a more communal atmos.
So I need advice from those who have sampled the alternatives.
I have been searching through the post 2008 threads and 3 names crop up. Speedchill, TeamLangoustine and WRR. Can I have some feed back from anyone who stayed with these guys and also if anyone has been to all, a direct comparison would be great.
No prices are available yet, but what should I expect to pay?
When should I book?

You may want to read back through some of the 'returnees' comments about last year organised sites. That way you can get a feel for how each worked and whether you feel it would be suitable for your needs. Otherwise you will just get a huge slanging match again about who was better/worse/etc. It was a bit of a nightmare.
Probably best I not comment but lets just say we won't be paying a return visit with the group we travelled with last year.

Every campsite offers something different and it depends what you want whilst you are there, A group of us went with WRR, and whilst we may have been a little loud for those around us ( apologies once again xliifts and co) the site was pretty good all things considered, however it is a fair walk from the track ( wrr is or was beausjour)

If you are talking about the tents inside the compound on the inside of TR corner, where the track goes onto the Mulsanne, that is an ACO site where you purchase your camping ticket and they put up the tent and you take it home with you when you go.If this isn't the site you are referring to then completely ignore what I said... :-)

That is the Team Langoustine site too.
This site was split into 2 this year. TL had 3/5th of it and the rest was ACO.
TL are in negotiations with the ACO to get the lot in 2009.

I went with WRR last year and had a fantastic weekend. It seems the set-up wasn't perfect for everyone, however I was more than happy with it, as were the 6 other guys I was camping with. Thought it was good value for what you got too.
There was some post-event debate about how things were run, and it seems Guy (who runs WRR) took on the comments and produced a fine camping set-up at the Britcar 24hr recently. See the positive comments posted on here and on the White Rabbit forum. Now means I am looking forward to going again next year, and will probably not even bother shopping around for tickets and just go with WRR as I trust them to put on a good camp site, and I like the guys who run it.

We've been going to Le Mans for 6 years now and stay at the municipal site at La Suze - close to a quaint town (good restaurant) good showers and nice atmosphere. It takes approx 20 mins to drive to the circuit where the parking is easy. Go check it out....
Second time I've heard about this site, met a couple of proper gents at Le Mans Series at Silverstone (camped at Whittlebury) who have been to this site for a number of years and rave about how good it is. Nice facilities, quiet atmosphere and available!
Its a municipal site, so needs to be booked through the council. Here's a link

Got to say, although i stayed in Houx, i booked with Team langoustine.
Their compound was well structured, great beer marquee with tv etc, and friendly guys. Great grandstand seats as well.
Also, having compared vfm with the other tours, theirs seemed to be very competitive, and i would definately use them again, especially if i could stay on their site.

Was it you with the red TVR wedge this year on Houx Annexe?
Afraid not.
I was due to be in Houx Annexe in a very dusty red Banks Europa. But turned up on Thursday night and was turned away. Spent the weekend in Beausejour, miles from the village. So that's why we are going with TL.
Hopefully it will stay red in the TL site (not too much dust I'm told). No looneys doing donuts I hope!
