Anyone got a miracle formula for getting the wheel off when seized to the hub ? Liberally sprayed with WD40 and wheel nuts put back on for the moment. I guess it will have to go up on a propper lift and be tapped\slapped from behind the wheel.

Rubber mallet, and whack the back of the wheel all the way round.Apply copper slip before you re-fit.

Ok BT. Cheers. Makes sense. My problem is getting behing the wheel as I'm just using 2 tonne trolley jacks and I'd like to keep my arms for a while longer, so it may have to go to the garage and be put up on the lift. smile

It's also sometimes possible to break the joint by covering a block of wood with lots of cloths to prevent any contact by a hard surface then placing that near the centre of the wheel and giving that a wack or two.

Slacken the bolts & drive it back and forth a bit...

And I'm only half joking.

I used this method when I was a lad. All four Wolfrace wheels seized onto my Capri. Did the trick and I've used coperslip ever since

I did this on Ford Sierras which had a problem with the front wheel sticking. Slacken the nuts, drive it forward, emergency stop and the wheels loosen. Leave the nuts on though or the wheels come off!
