I'm 20 now, and for the last 2 years or so I've gone out drinking most Friday and Saturday nights. Tend to drink about 30+ units on both nights, so over 60 units per week as I don't alcohol except for when I'm out on the session...

Just how bad is this for my body? A group of us all drink similar amounts and have done for all this time, I'm not addicted atall just enjoy going out, but just wondering how bad this was as my body has the rest of the week to recover and be alcohol free?

Don't think of the liver damage. Think of what you'll save on fake tan.

Just give it 5 years, you wont be able to drink that much without a massive hangover.

I NEVER used to get hangovers, now I've seen my fair share of apocalyptic death bringing hangovers to fill a double decker bus.

I've only ever had a hangover once, I was about 16ish and I didn't drink *that* much...

Not sure how they work tbh, must be genetics and i got lucky! Although my parents dont drink much for the hangover reason

I don't get hangovers, I think that might be part of my problem.

Then don't drink anything with alcohol in it. Stick to J2Os or coke. Oh, your night was st? Then you're addicted.

Your liver takes longer than a week to recover (although depending on how far an alcoholic goes, it may never recover). It's slowly being buggered over time. http://www.surgerydoor.co.uk/medical_conditions/In... for more info.

I know it feels manly to drink 20 pints. Do you have the balls to tell your mates, "Nah, I'll stick to orange juice tonight."?

I was OK 'til I turned 40,then started to suffer, not all the time, but more often frown .
At one time I'd only need to go home to get changed for work, now I need sleep.
I haven't learnt my lesson.I still think after a few drink I'll be alright

I did it every weekend for about 20 years, and a lot of other illegal chemicals too. Then I gave it up completely about 12 years ago. Best thing I ever did, as now I actually DO things with my life instead of just getting stfaced every weekend and wasting the years away doing nothing.

I worked out my monthly spending on booze a few months ago. Three (decidedly average) nights out a week and you're looking at the best part of £400/month. By 'night out' I'm talking about drinking in a pub, no clubbing or cabs home.

clap Good for you. Living your life is what it's about. (Mind you, I'm sat here wracked with pain from a 6 hour climbing session yesterday (in which I achieved two of my 2008 goals) - so maybe getting bladdered instead would have left me in a better state. And I've got two martial arts classes to teach on Monday... I hope I recover in time. silly )
