This will seem like a fairly basic question, but I'm getting some confusing results trying to set up the gear linkage correctly. So, can someone draw me a simple gear pattern diagram for the G50/01 (that's the north american version)? Also if I could get the selector shaft position at the back of the gearbox for each gear, that would be swell. smile

Thanks,
MHunter

I am assuming that they are all pretty much the same, mine a G50/00:

R 1 3 5
| | | |
- - - -
. | |
. 2 4

Ignore the dots, they are just to force/make the spacing work on this website.

To get reverse I sort of have to knock it over. Probably more to do with the rod end near the gear knob more than anything though. Quite often select 1st rather than reverse, so always pull away very slowly just in case anyone is watching wink

If you don’t have the linkage on the gearbox you will need some sort of lever (mole grip)

All this is looking on the end of the shaft.
There are three fore and aft positions which I will call away, level, back.
Find the position the 'box is designed to spring too.
Fit your mole grip level and pointing to the right.

Level, away = 4th
Level, back = 3rd
Down, back = 1st
Down, away = 2nd
Up, back = 5th
Up, away = 6th
A good clout down, back = Reverse

Be very careful with this as you may damage the selectors if heavy handed.
