Unfortunately my Noble is still stuck at Kerridges so had to bring my Evo out here to the Ring.
What a mad place this is,saw 4 crashes in half a lap yesterday with one of them a very bad bike crash, the rider ended up the other side of the barrier, this was on the left hander at the top of the hill coming down to the viewing area at the 16km board.
Air ambulance landed on the track and I think he will be lucky to survive.
This does help to 'keep it real' though in my head and maybe as Ive never been here before bringing a much more forgiving car may have been the right way on my first trip.
Any hoo, my goal as most people was to break the 10 min lap Bridge to Gantry and my first lap was a 9.26 so was well chuffed !
The next 3 laps got me closer to 9 mins but you start to think you know where the next bend goes, and it doesn't. A few lack of talent moments as well but happy to admit the car did help me out luckily !
Had a friend in for lap 6 who knows his way around there enough to trust his directions etc and ended the day with an 8.55 so I am extatic !
Its open 2 hours or so this evening and he rekons there's
another 20 secs to come,I'm not so sure but we will see !

Some great times there mate, Have you been over to www.northloop.co.uk they are a great bunch and while i was out there in august a few took me for a blast around in approx 8:30 one was in a 2.0 golf

Drove it a few times on the X box and thought I had a good idea of it ! WRONG ! didnt have a clue to be honest !
Was going to have a good go again tonight but one of the guys from the Focus RS lot im out here with had a big off and wrote his car off ! He's ok though walked away which amazed the officials here.
After that I decided to go a bit slower and try to look at the bends to learn a bit if I could, so drove fast but smoother and not pushing and did a 9.00 dead which felt easy compared to the faster one for only 5 secs difference.
So home in the morning, 9 laps all under 9.26 and nothings broke or even worn much. Im very impressed with the new suspension as its not worn the tires much at all so it must be working and when running the kerbs it took it all in its stride !
Can wait to come back ! Maybe a Noble trip for us all next year with Spa thrown in as I know Rob P says its an awsome track.

Yea I really wanted to take the Noble but after all the crashes I've seen I'm glad I didn't.
Now that I have a few (9) laps under my belt and I know what to expect etc then hopefully I will take the Noble next time and be a bit more relaxed about what to expect etc as this first trip before I went was quite daunting if I'm honest.
The long section out the back where you straight line 4 bends I saw in excess of 150 so god knows what the Noble will pull along there
Now that I'm back I cant wait to go again....I'm hooked, it makes track days a little repetitive in comparison.

How much power do you have? If you are talking about kesselchen then you either have a shed load of power or a dodgy speedo...
Not sure of the name im afraid, and not sure if I have both of either !
The car is roughly 360/360 so not powerful and the speedo has seemed as accurate as most, can't vouch for exact speed but a very quick glance showed past 140 and still some time before I came off so maybe 140 then 'indicated' but fast enough to know we were making progress !
Edit..... I have just watched the video and am talking out of my rear as usual ! Although the bit I described was a fast piece its not the bit where I got the speed I described.
That was achieved on what I would describe as the long down hill section with a left hand bend in it leading up to the first carousell. Sorry for my lack of ring knowledge and thank fully no cars were harmed during the making of the afore mentioned video !
(Disclamer.... as cameras are not allowed on the ring I apply the right to retract the above statement concerning vidoes as pure fabrication

kesselchen is the long section at the back from a hairpin (Bergwerk) to a left called AngstKurve or Mutkurve which leads into a couple of rights before you go up to the first Karousell. It is all uphill though, a steep climb in fact when you look out the back window! I have a rear facing vid from before the video ban that shows it really well.
Got a datalog here of an 8:26 lap and it shows that my GPS peak is only 127 up there with the same power as you...

Im more confused now as Ive watched it again and its deffo a long downhill section mainly sweeping left handers which are taken flat out to a sharpish right hander which then goes up hill to the carousell !
I dont host my stuff anywhere as I can't have people laughing at my lack of driving skills
