Winter Care

I recently bought an S3 which is a spare car so I don't need to use it over the winter. I keep it in a garage and live in Kent so it's not too cold most winters. I am wondering if it's best to take it out for a run every week through the winter months depending on weather or is it best to just leave it in the garage. If so should I take the wheels of and put in on bricks and start the engine now and again? Any advice would be appreciated.

Definately run it as much as possible - the S doesn't like being laid up.

My S3 has spent every winter in the garage since I bought it in 2002. I just try and run it every couple of weeks (take it out on the road if the weather is OK).

I do disconnect the battery and take the handbrake off (putting bricks behind the wheels to stop it rolling) - other than that it has been fine.

Plus it might be a good idea to get a battery conditioner if you dont run the cars. No doubt someone will come up with a recommendation soon
