I have been offered an unregistered 2004 model Elise 111s for £24,995 on the road with metallic paint...

Subject to me 1. Fitting in it and 2. Getting accepted for finance, is it a good deal?

It has leather, carpets, electrics, drilled disks etc...

I know the whole story about it not being true to the Elise core values etc etc but I've never had one before so should I buy new or look for a used one for a few grand less but not as good a spec?

Not really au fait with current prices. Maybe ask on www.seloc.org . Bit more lotus traffic there so maybe someone will know.

Only issue is if an engine change is on the cards with this new 190 engine. Dunno if it will make any difference though as thats unlikely to be the base engine.

Oooh, fingers crossed that I fit inside and that I get the finance then!

They have Silver, Black and Magnetic Blue (New Colour).

What is different from a Std Elise and a 111?

Flippin buy it, and quick!!

Bought one recently for more than that - lot more than that actually so i would definately have it.

Just cause there is a new engine on the way doesnt suddenly make the old car a bad car!

I think I know where...may be an existing Lotus dealer who are currently trying to get rid of some stock fast as they may not be Lotus dealing for much longer...and sticking only to Ferarri, Maser etc...am I right?!

As the great Bob Holness says, "Ooh it's a good guess but not quite.."

As for the colour, I am set on Black then getting the wheels refurbed in black too.... Mmmm!

It will look like this...

Incidentally this actual car lives just a few doors away and I'm gonna go and see it tomorrow to see if I fit...

Then there's the finance to worry about

LOL - it wont look like that unless you spend about £3K on Tiggas grille kits, diffuser, splitter, custom front/rear clam mods, black tints etc

only joking...enjoy

Definately not the same!

He's got the standard roof back on for now so it will be like a standard Elise...

PS. Who makes the loudest pipes for the Elise?

They'll probably never be a match for my old car but I don't think many cars could be!

Loudest for S2 is probably the Janspeed (about £350) combined with a cat replacement pipe and a 4-2-1 manifold ...be careful if you want to do trackdays though

What is the Bell and Colvill one like? I think I heard that was loud too...

its one of the more civilised ones - most people who dont want the noise/raspyness of the Janspeed go for either the official Lotus one (Magnex - what I have) or the B & C one.

to put it into perspective though none of these are quiet ! ...just some slightly more than others

Janspeed it could be...

I really should stop myself getting worked up until I know I'm getting one!

But it's so exciting to think about it!!
