Just got home and there's a letter on the mat that just says "An Apology" on the front.

So I open it, like you do and it's a 2 page essay on how I should be appalled at the abuse of 2 young kids called Philip and Jamie-Leigh and the only way to prevent them being beaten to death is to surrender 2 quid a month ad infinitum.

What a load of $hite.

I've hand written the following on the back of the form and put it in the prepaid envelope along with all of today's other junk mail (various menus and stuff trying to sell me a boiler that's marked up by 500% etc etc).

Lisa,

Please give it a rest with the unsolicited, mawkish mailshots, they are a waste of trees, trees that children, like Phillip and Jamie-Leigh (chav) could play happily in.

I read the accounts of their obviously hideous, and no doubt factual abuse, and then your statement "and if that doesn't work, then i really don't know what will", well, for a start try and stop stop sending out drivel like this, you might generate more support.

Kind regards

Dave

ps. My money is going to the NCDL "cos dogs are better than kids!"
and I'm not your friend

Now I'm no evil hearted bstd or anything but things like this really get on my Michael Bublé's. I'm sure the NSPCC do a fine job of looking after needy kids but will someone in there marketing dept please wise up, or fvck off!!

why the fook does the "small" format function work and not "i"

I stopped donating to OXFAM for the same reason. Just give £10 a month to the local boys boxing club in Bethnal Green. Does more good.

You aren't alone. At least you read it, I suppose; I just threw mine out - the NSPCC's "no-smacking ever" campaign was about the end for them...

I don't give money to charity. You never know what they will do with it. I do not trust them an inch.

Instead I give my time. A few hours a week. I know they can't abuse that because I am there at the time and would know.

I bin anything that comes through the door and I don't donate to Chuggers.

You aren't heartless.

I don't donate to kids, I sponsor a dog and a donkey biggrin

However, my parents do, or did... until the NSPCC kept sending letters begging for money money. Until at one point, she did give in and say she would give them the extra £3 pcm they wanted, worked out at £36 pa the money said (which it does).

Until the direct debit came out and it was £36 pcm. Uh oh... cancelled.

I got that, didn't it start with some drivel written in the first person like
"I was going to shock you to begin with but...."?

Binned straight away. It's begging. Can't stand begging.

If they'd have sent a letter with NSPCC on it and written words to the effect of: "We are the NSPCC, we are a charity helping abused and under-privileged kids and would like your help" I might actually have considered it.

It's like those adverts on the TV with the kids with flies on their face begging for £2 a month. Or dog charities begging for £2 a month. Or Cats. Or Monkeys. Or old people. I sympathise with these charities but, please, just Fvck. Off.

It would do more good if you weren't paying the £10 a month to go down there and tw4t them, though.

The donkey doesnt write, but Mr. Magoo the mongrel regularly gets in touch with birthday and christmas cards.

"I have mostly been frolicing in the gardens with my friends, its really fun... Please phone my carers before you come and see me, id hate to miss you"

Aw, Mr. Magoo!

I sponsor several dogs with the Dogs Trust all of whom look lovely and sweet on the pamphlet, but when you ask to visit one, they are all too vicious and man-eating to be allowed to even look at them through a wire fence, apparently. frown I reckon I could survive an encounter with a Yorkshire Terrier however angry it was.

I can't help thinking the dogs don't really exist. . . . . . . scratchchin

LOL at the replies.

I've managed to get 75p worth of 2p & 1p into the return envelope, it weighs more than a malnourished, physically abused child now smile

I've helped to fund a few Goats. I collected all the obsolete BMW/MINI leather swatches and got some girls to make them into i-pod holders and handbags etc to sell. So there's a load of limited edition BMW/MINI leather i-pod cases and a couple of handbags kicking about.

'Kids for kids' it's called where a family keeps the goat/s for a year keeps the offspring and passes to goat couple on to another family.
