long long shot and I cant find anything on the web. I'd love to fit a towbar to a CL500 (trailer+race car-no caravans!!!) and wondered if there's anything available anywhere or anyone who'd be brave/clever enough to make something (detachable) up??

I think the car has to be tested before it is allowed to be used legally with a tow-bar?? I know we looked at getting a tow-bar fitted to a CLS recently and as it wasn't available for this reason.
I called Witter in Chester to get one for a rarer car and they had not had the demand and therefore there was not one made. Witter are the best for tow bars so give them a go direct.
I think with a bigger lump like that you need to start looking at a more powerful gearbox radiator. I came across this problem with early big engined E Classes some years ago.
