...that calling someone gay is to be considered an insult
Its a quote taken from an interview during the Jason Donovan vs Face trial back in 91.
Tell you what sweetheart its a bloody big insult to call into question someones sexual prference in a public manor. Its why we're not allowed to call people "gay" on this site any more.
I just never realised how long that flower has had a public voice.

Funny how 'gay' is OK whilst 'homosexual' is brushed under the carpet in hushed tones. Bit like cripple and spastic - same thing, just a load of silly fuss.

I always considered it a shame that a perfectly good word like gay was appropriated to describe homosexuals in the first place and thus rendered unusable for any other purpose.
I know what you mean, I only mentioned to a pot bellied, pie eating fella at the footy the other day how Michael Owens ball skills made me all gay...I couldn't believe his response, you'd thought he'd have been happy at also witnessing this wizards control!Edited by unrepentant on Tuesday 23 September 00:33
They cant have it both ways, if gay 'is' an insult then by banning it they are admitting they think 'gay' is a bad thing and are therefore being homophobic themselves.
If gay is not an insult then why ban people calling others (who are not gay) 'gay' - should be no different to calling someone somthing else which they are not like, say, a carpenter for example...
