Evening all,

Now I figure this would be a good place to ask.

I turn the ripe age of 21 in about a months time, and I was hoping to call upon some of your knowledge to see some recommendations for nights out.

What I want is a late bar, 2am+ preferably in London for me and friends to go to and have a good time.

What I don't want is to be in the middle of nowhere shoudl we decide to move on..

So far, I have thought about Kensington Roof Gardens,Lost Society in Clapham and Covent Garden..

Now I would love to hear some places that are cool, decent repertoire of drink and more of a bar atmosphere to a nightclub..

Any places that you think I should be checking out for the big one please let me know.

Don't go out drinking, it'll only end in vomiting, broken bones and cheap sgs - booze Britain beware!

What you do need is a session karting or something similar, some rock climbing or bungee jumping or similar and a titty bar...so then vomiting, broken bones and cheap sgs afterall!

wink

I hired out Industry bar (Curtain Road) for a Saturday night. £200, with a £1500 spend.

It rocked!

See I don't think I will want to hire out a venue, I would rather book a couple of tables in a bar. As there's no guarantee that I won't get bored and go somewhere else..

Titty bars may come later, but I have female friends so I doubt they would appreciate having to go to a strip club wink

I checked that place out Sleep Envy, looks pretty cool..

Keep them coming guys

I'm in a similar position (finding a venue for my 25th). Places like roof gardens are great fun, but if your planning on having a group of 15+ then it can be a bit of a hassle with the guestlist and getting everyone in without long queues or problems at the door... Plus a few tables at Roof gardens might set you back a few grand... Lost Society might be a good alternative. Great crowd, great venue but less hassle! The white house in clapham is also an option.

Good call.

Or if you want West End could start somewhere like the Long Bar at the Sanderson then head off into Soho as loads of bars around there.

http://www.worldsbestbars.com is always good for ideas and their reviews are reasonabley reliable.

Mahiki? definitely not everyones thing, but then I've got a thing for daft drinks and hula girls.

I have used this place for several functions...........in South Ken with a bar up stairs with an outside space and also a nightclub downstairs.

Does not cost a thing to hire just a minimum spend of £1500 which is pretty easy.

Try the Blag Club...they've got one in Notting Hill Gate and one somewhere else...can't remember where! It's quite small and guestlist only, but they're really cool and will help you plan your night!

Also, try the Worship Bar in Moorgate....very good night!

When you're 20 it seems the best thing in the world. Then you realise that it's exactly the same as other birthdays.

I was 21 in August, I didn't see anything special about it.

2 of my friends seem to throw a big party, but they didn't for all the other years.

A strange occurrence indeed.

Nothing, I like to celebrate my birthdays with friends in a good venue in town..

What's wrong with that?

If I was going to go to town on the idea like my parents suggested then thousands would have been spent on this that and the other.

But I don't want to be made a fuss of, just want to have a good time with good company in a decent spot.

Cheers for all the recommendation's other guys, I am weighing them all up.

Anyone been to The Loft in Clapham?

yep

over priced, difficult to get into and they kick you out at 2am - not worth the hassle IMO

worth having a look around farringdon as there's a number of bars there and they stay open quite late - bedouin bar is one off the top of my head

there's a night called 'evergreen' in the arts studio behind farringdon station that's a bi-monthly affair - not sure when the next one is on but it's worth finding out, had really good nights there

they sell the tickets in a record shop on exmouth market just round the corner

Fair play, I assumed it was a bit gimmicky being one of a kind, awesome concept, but I don't think me and my pals would fit the demographic that they would want to have in there.

I will check out those, cheers.
