Just curious, are there any chance a R35 Nissan GTR can waste a 500hp Ultima GTR off the line, and all the way up to 150mph? Was thinking about purchasing the Nissan GTR, but then thought about the price... I can get myself a 500-550hp Ultima GTR.

Off the line it probably could(4wd traction), but once hooked up I suspect the Ultima would have a significant advantage, similar power and ~700Kg lighter.

Completely different cars though, one is a big, heavy, comfortable, physics-defying rocketbarge and the other is a hardcore sportscar that you can build yourself.

I don't think the cars are comparable in any way shape or form. You can look at straight line performance, but that's about all you can compare.

They are so different I have re-written this post 3 times and not been happy with it. The Ultima is an amazing car, and literally the ultimate kit car. The Nissan is the latest in a new breed of supercar that can be driven daily, still be extremely desirable, but offer cheap servicing costs and staggering performance for its size and comfort levels.

It's hard to really know where to begin with comparing them.

I know it sounds silly, but if i had a big, powerful car like the Skyline and room for a toy...I would kinda want the opposite? I'm thinking a caterham R500? Soemthing super light and "feelfull".

Not that an Ultima isnt, or is a bad car in any way!!

I totally agree with you there. I have the exact same philosophy.

I have a GT-R on order for daily driving and the odd trip to the Nurburgring, and a Westfield Megabusa for track abuse, plus the odd weekend blast when it's sunny. They are both very good at their intended purpose.
