domain name in dos

How do i go about changing a domain name in dos. I have a computer which refuses to image on to a system. it seems to have lost the nic driver and i cant get hold of a copy anywhere. i was hoping as nothing had gone wrong on this computer i could just change the domain in dos and it should start up on the new system. any help would be most helpful
