Garmin vs Pocket GPS World Camera DBs
Discussion
Have a Garmin 760. Had it about 6 months so Speed Camera Database getting a bit out of date.
Understand that the Pocket GPS World DB is recomended over the Garmin DB. Is that because it's cheaper/more accurate/updated more often or all of the above ?
Are the Pocket GPS World Data Camera alerts directional and aware of the prevailing limit in the same way as the Garmin one ?

All of the above except possibly the directional bit. Doesn't matter which side the cameras are on with TonTom it just tells you there is a camera ahead but it does give you a countdown on screen as to how far away it is. You can also preset the distance ahead the camera is rom you before you get a warning.
I have no idea whether or not the warnings are directional on Garmin as i've never used one, i can only assume they will work as per your original Garmin updates. BTW....PGPS website updates camera database almost weekly and for £20 a year it's a steal!! I've been using PGPS for over 3yrs now and i'm very happy with the updates and all the useful stuff and writeups on their site.
Go for it!!

Garmin are not directional - it just warns that there is a camera present. I have found the Pocket GPS database to be both cheaper and more accurate.
Totally agree .... the Garmin DB where I am is hopeless - whereas the Pocket GPS one is spot on. The only bit I don't like is the bonging every time I am even 1 mph over the speed limit ... something the Tom Tom Pocket GPS doesn't do !
