Importing from U.S

Thinking of importing direct myself from U.S has anyone done this or has any idea of costs involved and also registration process??

imported an 85 911 about a year ago. will post more details tomorrow. registration was a pain(cos it was a white body car with filled Z's in chassis number in boot) but after 3 trips i finally got it registered

everything else was very easy
