I am looking for someone local to Newcastle just for an A service on my S2
Formula 1 want £275
Hexham Horseless want £266.15
Others are 1-2 hours drive from me so not ideal during the week!
Such as:
Track Torque
Falcon Performance
Any help welcomed since JPS has gone

On the subject of Revline - I called down that way today just to be nosey.
Unit is a small garage on the Foxhunters trading estate in Whitley - the owner was out when I popped along, turns out the chap I swapped waves with on the way into the estate in the green Elan m100 was the owner.
Will probably pop along again through the week just to get a feel for the place and have a bit of a chat

Colin is the guy to talk to. He's a Lotus fanatic, owns varoius cars, a superbly restored 60's Elan Sprint (restored himself), Elan M100 and others.
He services my M100 (as well as other work). Don't be put off by the location. He's a font of knowledge - I've seen most Lotus models in there over the years - he does know what he's doing. I've had no complaints or worries with his work......
When not at work you'll usually find him at a race track or Show somewhere.
I've always found him to be friendly, fair and very helpful.

Colin from Revline has restored numerous Lotus to concourse standard he currently owns an M100 and a 60s Elan sprint. He has done numerous jobs on my S4s Esprit and M100 Elan.
If you cut him through the middle like candy rock it would read LOTUS.
I dont know anything about Jude but I cannot fault Colin and there are no nasty shocks with bills at the end of a job.
Dont be put off by where he is located as he works on any Lotus as if they were his own cars.
I cannot recommend him highly enough. I know quite a few other Lotus owners who also use him and will go no where else.
Hope this helps
Cheers Mike

Try Hunters motorcare in Bells close ind est, Newburn/Lemington area if your near there, they do all my servicing etc, really good bunch of lads who know their stuff, the owners been in the business for about 35-40 years and has alot of experience in high performance stuff.
PM Me if you'd like their details.

Colin is brilliant! I have known him for years through NELOC and he services and works on all my Lotuses. He has restored and returned to concourse many an old Lotus and I was even considering having him build me a Zetec +2S until I went out in one!!
Thoroughly trustworthy and knows infinitely more than the main dealers, believe me!!
Hope this helps!
Can provide details if you contact me.
Cheers,
Matt

Colin at Revline in Whitley Bay is a very good Lotus mechanic. He has been involved with Lotus cars for about 30 years, and has done some amazing restorations. In addition to owning, over the years, a variety of Lotus cars, he used to be involved in motor racing at Knockhill in the distant past…( ie the 1980’s ). He has restored, to a very high standard, a Plus 2 Elan, an original Europa Twin Cam, and a superb Elan Sprint. He has owned an Elise 111 and an Esprit. He is, as has been said, Lotus through and through. You may get more of an idea if you go to his website which I understand has recently been set up ; www.revline.co.uk

Let us know how you get on will ya as I'm due an A service come November.
On arrival I found an alladin's cave of Lotus bits, Colin, Ken and thankfully a nice hot brew as well

Colin is obviously very passionate about Lotus cars and clearly knows his way around everything produced since the seventies (having owned most of the models produced since then from what I can gather!)
We chatted for ages about all things motoring, including his pristine baby elan that was in the workshop at the time and his m100 that I've often seen out and about on the roads around here.
Overall I'd put him in the "thoroughly nice chap" category and say he's definitely worth a visit if you need anything looking at on your car and you're in the area

Interesting thread this - I'm f1 through and through, but that A service cost does seem steep, although I seem to remember I paid the same for mine there last year.
Although f1 do offer a lot of added value throughout the rest of the year, lots of niggles etc they've helped me with, often with no charge, so for me anyway, possibly worth paying the premium.
Good to learn about alternatives all the same tho.

I don't think F1 are the only place that will sort little niggles out for you FOC. IMHO.Dan

and sure I take on board other garages would probably offer similar though, so point taken.
