Oil Pressure Question

just got the call i was waiting for and the VXR is ready

however im not sure about the oil pressure issue.

they are saying they have checked it against another Monaro there and its the same

basically when cold the oil pressure goes to 5 bar on load, but when warmed through it sticks to 3.5 bar max can anyone comment on their cars oil pressure

ANY ONE FROM MONKFISH GOT ANY IDEAS

My '06 VXR sits bang in the middle when idling at cold, rising just above under load.
When hot it sits just under, rising to middle under load.

Can't remember the values on the gauge top of my head, just the position. Not sure if that helps...

Ditto although just over 3 when hot and over 2k rpm. 5w40 oil in it. With 0w30 it was noticeably lower when hot!!

My Monaro CV8 oil pressure is slightly above 3 bar when cold, and right on 3 bar when warmed up.

5 or 10 w 30 which ever vauxhall put in

When you say 5 bar "on load", at what RPM. Oil pressure is unaffected by engine load.

5 bar can be acheived at about 4000rpm when cold but can be kept down abit on more partial acceleration it goes up like a rocket if i accelerate fast

Does seem a bit high, but if it drops to circa 3 bar when hot it may not be an issue. Has anyone checked "real" oil pressure.
