The 'Ring via Spain
Discussion
N260 (if I remember correctly) - basically runs from Biarritz to Girona. About 400 miles of the best driving I have ever done. Big climbs, descents, gorges, strings of 2nd and 3rd gear bends, plus an 8km tunnel in the middle.
To give you an idea of how much fun I had, I blistered the front tyres and warped a new set of brakes on my BMW...
Leave Biarritz at 6am and watch the mist evaporate as the sun comes up.
Magic.
I want to go again....
In my opinion the roads in the Pyrennes are far better than the alps as there is much less traffic. Before 10am I probably only had to overtake about 4 times.
If you want a shorter route drive the small road from Pau up into the mountains and then pick a course towards Girona, via Andorra. A lot of fun also.
