She's just had one of her tops allegedly ruined by the washing machine.

It's a man-made fibre thing and looks as if it has been melted in places.

I've had the machine for 3yrs and it has been perfect and I'd be the first to worry about it munching clothes.

Anyway - we have a dry cleaners just round the corner so she wanted to go and ask them if they'd ever seen anything like it.

Fine.

Then she asks if I will go with her -

Me - err... ok, if you want me to.

Her - You don't want to go? Don't you want to know why this is happening?

Me - Yes I do but surely you can tell me when you get back. Will me being there in person change what they say?

Her - No, but I want you to come.

Me - Ok, not sure why, but ok.

We walk down the stairs, walk round the corner, ask the question, get a nonplussed reponse and come home.

Now she's really upset with me. I made it clear that I didn't mind going, just wondered why I had to. I could understand if it was to get some test results of an illness or something but this is an old top made of plastic. She wasn't in mortal danger of being mugged between the apartment and the dry cleaners for example.

They're wierd!

Because they have ovaries, which are actually the central argument system for a woman.

She's normaly pretty collected - Mr Blobby must be just round the corner or something.

And yes, I'm still with her - she is awesome, just female!

Another observation...she,ll be totally untidy for a week or two then go into a mad tidying frenzy and blame me for the smallest thing out of place , still they do have some redeeming qualities....

I disagree. That's not how they're all made. Mine is awesome - no rants, no complaints, not monthly mood swings, great BJ's, dirty sex, happy to go drinking all afternoon, happy to sit in the passenger seat for thousands of miles and can look a million dollars when the venue and event calls for it.

OP do you remember Green Shield Stamps?

People saved them up until they had a full page, then a full book, and got, erm, something.

So it is with your experience. It goes like this. Every time you annoy her, the female mental logical equivalent of a green shield stamp goes on a page of your book. When a page is full, you also get something, but not what you expected. What's that, you don't remember the other stamps going in? No guy ever does, but SHE does.

When you get a full book - post up again and let us know what happened then biggrin

The part i find confusing is why she would want to go to a dry cleaners and ask them about her washing machine.

Take this as a warning, could be a sign of what is to come.

Women are nothing like Green Shield Stamps.

And if you're not old enough to remember Green Shield Stamps...

I remember how the Stamps tasted when I had to lick them. vomit

Because they are in the business of cleaning clothes and have a place full of washing machines (OK, so they are a different type, but that doesn't matter) and they do it all day every day, so if anyone ought to know it's them.

The man speaks the truth.
Well kinda.
The trick is spotting when it's all going pear shaped like that and coming up with the right responses to defuse the timebomb. Sadly it's an inexact science and nigh on impossible to master.

Exactly - and they've always been very helpfull.

Anyway - so, after a nice talk we have now come to an agreement. When she asks me to do something she will give me a rational reason. If she doesn't give me a rational reason, there is no actual rational and she wants me to do it anyway.

Glad that's been sorted.
