Believe it or not, even grandads enjoy driving TVRs. I was in my fifties when I bought my first, now on my second at 55. No doubt, us very old gits are well outnumbered by you young whippersnappers. Nontheless, driving a TVR brings us just as big a smile ...

Sixspeed,

if you don't mined me asking.
How much is your insurance going to be?
How can you afford a new Tuscan at 23? - what on earth do you do?

How can you afford such cars being only in your early twenties? That goes beyond me!

getting old now(32). But first TVR when I was 23. (Griff 4.3). My insurance was £740 then. made the quote for £1200 for an astra GTE look a bit silly.

Bosshog,

None of the 'specialist' insurers would quote until I was 25. Privilege have quoted me 1660 though, with NCD protection, legal cover and 400 excess.

Not bad I thought really, considering the MX-5 cost me 1200 this year with the same cover and policy options.

so, you lot that can afford TVRs in your early twenties... what is it? Crime? IT consulting? (if there is a worthwhile difference....)

For all you wrinkleys out there, here's how we afford a TVR:
Wife? no
(inc 2nd car, clothes, shoes, makeup, phone bill...)
Kids? no
(inc... )

Long may it last.
(I fear not...)
