About time I shared my clio with you all

It's been 7 months since I had a little oversteer induced off road excursion
ops: and done this damage to my baby
as well as the all the suspension damage


I wasn't too worried about the cosmetic damage as the plan ever since I bought it was to get full respray. So the buying started, with some rust free doors on ebay, rsi skirts & wilwood 4 pots 8), rear bumper, tailgate, and a set of wheels for me to refurb.
I went to the bodyshop at the end of march and booked it in for the respray at the end of may. In the meantime I swapped these
for these beauties 8)

Then when she went in I made a start on the wheels, here's what they looked like when I got them back from being shot blasted
Then filled & sanded all the kerb marks & missing chunks with chemical metal and 4 coats of primer (no short cuttin)

Then the 1st couple of coats of gloss black paint

Then a few more coats, rubbed back with some 1500 grit wet and 3 coats of lacquer

Here they are on the car wrapped in brand new yokohama paradas 8)

Since the weather was good, I gave the car a clean and fitted some new goodies 8)
1st is the replica of the original sticker in the rear window

Here's it all fitted, new lights, fogs & indicators all brand spankin new genuine renault items 8)

I had a black 16V with leather back in the day - lowered slightly on refurbished 5-spokes like yours. I have very fond memories of that car: the wide arches, bonnet bulge, high-revving engine and sublime handling. Like many Renaultsport cars, the 16V had variable power outputs but I'm glad to report that mine was a belter and hung onto some comparably exotic cars in a straight line (plus embarassed them on the twisties).
I later moved onto a Williams (No.123 of the first series no less!) and through various other hot cars before my current Clio 197. The 197 reminds me the most of the 16V - it's pretty much the same recipe for fun, with an added dose of quality and refinement.
