Thanks Norman,

Re your thread a few months ago regarding relacing headlight bowls and bulbs.

I ordered a pair from Stafford lighting, my car would have failed this years MOT because of the chrome flaking off one of the bowls. The relacement items are a Quadope lens & reflector with H4 Xenon + 50% bulb.

I fitted both in under 1hr, just had to crimp the new side light bulb wires.

I have not been out in the dark for a month, but I did a couple of weeks ago to my local TVR meet, I could not believe the difference, it was fantasic, you could see so well.

Thanks,

Fred

Fred, which one did you go for?
I'm not sure looking on Staffords website ( http://www.s-v-c.co.uk )

These look interesting though - listed as a new product

Hi Chris

This is what I had

http://www.s-v-c.co.uk/prod/wipac-quadoptic.html with the 50% uprated bulb

But I think the new ones will look the dogs testicles and hopefully be just as good lighting wise

The new ones ought to be good - they are nearly twice the price!

Another thing you can do is to split the loom by the front cross member and wire in two additional relays and wire each side in seperately - basically to put a circuit for each side. That way you get the full 12v at each bulb and hence hopefully brighter lights.

I've done that to both my V8S and the old S3C, latter done from a kit by Modwise. I've got the wiring diagram and measurements somewhere I think if you need them..

another way to increase the brightness is to fit relays that bring the dip beam back on when on full beam

I'm pretty sure Golf mk2 7" Bosch or Cibie also fit and have a really good beam pattern.
also fit (for off road use only ehhem) 100/90 watt lamp.
had them in my GT4 based RS200

Not on an S without beefing up the wiring first - the sweet smell of melting wires otherwise!

HID kits seem reasonable cost these days - approx £70 and only equiv to 35watt so no wiring probs

Hi if possible could you please send me or post that wiring diagram. I have a set of Crystal + Halo lights and Phillips Extreme +80 bulbs on the way and would like to beef up the wiring when I install them.

Many Thanks

Damian
