I've got a search running on E-bay for this issue. I contains a report and photos of my 390SE.

Ian (avocet) very kindly provided a scan of the cover and will be sending some scans of the article, but he says two pages are missing from his copy.

I anyone can pijnt me in the direction of a complete copy I would appreciate learning its whereabouts.

Can't help you wih the Fast Lane article, but I do have a reprint of the 'Motor' article on the launch of the 390SE, dated Oct. 20th 1984. The car featured is wearing the factory plate TVR 100, but is a dark colour (allowing for it being a mono reprint).
It has the single air vent in the bonnet, just in front of the screen; no flares to the wheelarches on the bodywork, just a flared front to the front arches that is actually part of the air dam; no bootlid spoiler. The battery is on the l/h side of the engine bay and the washer bottle is on the r/h, jammed next to the brake servo. It is wearing the cross-spoke style of wheel.

The tester's verdict was non-committal to poor, alas!

I have a copy of that magazine. The test of the car wasn't too successful because, if I remember rightly, it broke a drive shaft, so there was a further test later on in 1985. I've seen the early magazine come up a few times on E-bay, but I can scan my copy and send it to you. It won't be for a few weeks though, I'm currently in Indonesia.

Kim - that would be great, if I can't source a magazine. I was in Jakarta on business back in the '80s ... only place I ever got sick (ice in cola!!!) whilst working in 28+ countries on all continents. Enjoy - Streaky
