Hi all, I'm in search of a decent accountant to sort out my company accounts for the last year or so. I'm a limited company and sole employee. It is mainly income, and the only outgoings are my wages, expenses and the occasion business purchase (such as laptops etc).

I have bucket loads of receipts, which I can sort out myself and give you monthly totals. I just need pointing in the right direction and someone to handle the tax side of things (which hopefully can be kept pretty low!)

I did have a great accountant for my last company but he fell ill just before I started up this one and I've been on the lookout for a worthy replacement since.

If anyone is, or knows a good one in the London area, I'd be very interested.

Cheers

Dan

What about asking for a good doctor for your old accountant?

...wasn't your previous business ventures that made him ill, was it?

We use Nicholas James Associates in Weybridge. They do a very straight-laced job for us, which is exactly what we need. If you are looking for quick and dirty accounting or "grey" tax areas, they are not the ones for you.

Yes good idea.

Dan have you considered "Quick Books" in addition to an Accountant.
I dare say some of them may have noticed "I have a bucketload of receipts" and envisioned two big cardboard boxesbiggrin

Quick Books gets all your receipts into the correct accounts, it is real time saver. Not sure if you "invoice" but it's a god send if you do.

As much as one can based purely on Eric's contribution on here and no direct experience, I would certainly recommend him.
