Has any one else had any issues with MSD 6AL ignition modules?
After my dissy cap failing i have just fit new one and tested it and I have no power going to my coil after putting my new one on. If I use a power probe and put power to the coil i can get the car to fire. I have checked the power to the ignition system, it all seems ok. There for common sense says it is the ignition system gone knackered. If thats the case this is the second one I have had fail. (on different cars).

Is this a known issue, or any one else experienced similar?

Cheers

John

Hello major problems with MSD 6A & AL failing..........we've gone to Mega-fire boxes............Why are they fail'n.............not 100% sure... but rumour has it the Mexican assembly line workers want more benefits IE 1 hr breaks 3 per 8 hr shift.............Just kid'n.... but we have stop'd use'n them due to strange internal electronic break downs... HENCE why there are so many RECONDITIONED MSD boxes on the web for sale by suppliers........MY 2 pence Dr.Dee

sent mine back to realsteel about 3 years ago and havent seen it since.. Bought another one from Summit and its still going strong.. ive been told heat and vibration can cause them to break down so moved mine inside cotpit and doubled the rubber mounts. been ok so far..might be like a holley carb, race use only and a pain on the road!!!!!!!!!!!
