I wonder how clever the goons on the ground would have felt if the choppers sent a couple of air to ground missiles down, just to let them know they had seen their 'warning flares'? hehe

scratchchin mmmmmmm, a guerilla type enemy using "sanctuary areas" across an easily infiltratable border - Arclight anyone?

As shirley sang, "it's all just a little piece of history repeating".

To everyone making clever remarks, how would you like American helicopters flying into the UK and bombing a UK military outpost, or blowing up a "terrorist" in Berks and taking out Mrs Miggins next door as well.

The Pakistanis are in a sensitive situation. Bombing your own country isn't as easy as bombing an enemy. When the innocent die, it's your people not some strangers. The West doesn't seem to understand this.

Hmmmmm I see parallels with the Georgia crisis here, i.e. sovereignty. How this unfolds will be very interesting.

If ever there was a time for a "nuke from space" response, now is that time.

If the Pakistani millitary want to be shot at, they should drop the flares and dress like British troops. Why cant the Pentagon calm down? Bunch of imperialist idiots.

Probably will. All posturing to make the current president look hard, and as if he's not allowing the Americans to encroach on his sovereignty. Ironically him and his late wife were staunchly supported by the US. After the wedding party was blown to pieces last week, and a number of other incursions which resulted in multiple civilian casualties occurred, this is a symbolic gesture, at best.
