Seems to me to be incredibly good value, does anyone happen to know anything about it?

Its due for a service but even then it seems well priced.

Any thoughts?

It is not cheap really, there are now quite a few at 49995 and we havent hit the depths of winter yet! My guess is they will drop at least another £5k by dec/jan, if not more!

They will always drop further, I haven't seen many (any)black or red spiders at that price yet. Theres a few accident damaged ones and a few in various shades of silver.

There seems to be a weird role reversal between traders and private sellers.

From the cars I've come across so far the ones from traders seem to be more sensibly priced, perhaps the private sellers aren't really that keen on selling and have a "if it happens, it happens" attitude.

There is a low milesage grigio one for that price (bad colour for resale). There is a red/crema one for that price with 30k miles (clear hpi). There is a tdf/tan car for the same price. As you say lots of silver ones.

The black one, as you say, needs a service. It will need belts next year (he reckons belts were done in 04 and 06). They couldnt tell me when, or if, the clutch had ever been changed. Usual sales patter about lots of enquiries. He reckons he hasnt got much margin in it and wouldnt even include a service!

Ah so you spoke to him as well.

I had the same issue getting information regarding the clutch, not very confidence inspiring.

Might go for a quick look over the weekend as he isn't very far from me.

If you do go and have a look please could you post what its really like. I toyed with going to have a look but have decided I am going to wait till the depths of winter to buy.

No worries.

Like you I am considering holding off as winter is fast approaching.

I also have my car I need to sell, it seems being a cash buyer is the way forward rather then having to deal with part ex hassles.

But I want one now, I may well return with this spider over the weekend, I have zero control. smile
