I got a quote from Classicline for my recently purchased 348 - very pleased with the price at £365 (3000miles p.a & I am 30) but on reading the proposal form they sent me, as it is insured as garaged, if it is at my house at all and not in the garage, it is not insured! I phoned to check this with them and they say that this is correct unless I am with the car. It will always be garaged overnight but will obviously be left on the drive sometimes, when washing it for example.

Need to find another insurer who is not this extreme - does anybody have any suggestion?

AON have the same policy, but only if the car is parked outside your house (or within a 5 mile radius???) between the hours of 10pm to 6am.

Or something along those lines. HAven't got my policy to hand, but there was definetly a time element to it.

Also, AON will cover you for 5 trackdays for no additional cost (10% value of the car as excess) and give you a guaranteed value.

I'm paying £550 per year for 5,000 miles with them. CLub Scuderia members and FOC members get a 10% discount as well.

Adrian Flux are very good, especially if you have several cars, their cherished vehicles policy allows you to have several cars under one policy (they beleive you can only drive one at a time)!!!

Footman James are one of the cheapest and seem very good also.

I found RH Specialist Insurance Division pretty good for my 308. 10k miles per year, not that i'd do that, for £330.

You should re-check that small print - it's probably the same as the previous poster (and mine) which states 10pm and 6am... Unless perhaps you live in a postcode they particularly don't like?

I called and asked mine about the 5 mile radius thing and they said that didn't apply - ridiculous to say you're not 'allowed out' locally after dark! A 5 mile radius would be HUGE too!

I'm paying much the same on my Esprit but now that's over 20 years old, it's unlimited mileage now! (Was 6000 before)

Try Footman James they cover my Esprit and Lamborghini (6k miles).

Also A-Plan are worth trying.

Mine just says "overnight".
