Tip #1: Write a clear advert. Avoid use of words that arent in a regular dictionary, even though you understand and know the meaning of them, others may not.

Tip #2: Dont try and sell your mates stuff on your account. You havent a fking clue what you're selling, and when asked questions, you need to remember to ask your mate (who hasnt got internet access) to answer for you.

Tip #3. Dont try and come back with 10 minutes left on the auction and paraphrase said mates answers to very specific questions. Especially if you're a complete dribbling spacktard who cant string a sentence together.

Tip #4. If you dont know the answer to a question, just say you dont know. It's not the end of the world, but telling me how you used to do this that and the other and how great life is with your new girlfriend doesnt inspire me to buy your mates car

Tip #5. Dont complain when you've started an auction with no reserve, got a winning bid for 1/4 of the expected value and say the deals off

Idiots, just pure fking idiots. And I got up early

Been in a similar situation. Saw a nice car, no damage in pics so thought I'd go and have a look at it. Now the car had Chrome Spinner Alloys which I didn't like so would've taken off and sold and he'd also added "built-in" Sat-Nav consisting off a small TV screen that flipped down from the roof to cover the rear-view mirror. Idiotic if you ask me so again, it's something that could be removed and sold! So, get to the car and guess what? Needs a whole new front bumper due to the damage on it. Idiot. The guy wasn't there when I went round as he was on the way back from the gym so I legged it! He called me, I said I'm not interested due to the damage and his argument was: "But....Sat Nav...." Cheers mate, good luck selling it.
It's on eBay - why would you not picture the damage?

Pursue through ebay as he has broken his side of the contract. Won't get you anywhere but might ruin his day and make him think twice next time.

madDont get me fkin started on Ebay
Bought a TDi 150 Golf on an 03 described as MINT. Looked nice in the pics waited and won it for an avareage price. Travelled all the way to rainy Wolverhampton to collect it and had to wait an hour for the seller to turn up.
When they did an asian guy showed me the car which turned out to have 2 key marks the entire length of the drivers side which was not mentioned and it had had a rear 1/4 replaced and poorly fitted. So i hpi checked it while i was there and you guessed it CAT D FFS
Could of ttted him so i bid him in the balls to which he refused saying ahh legal contract through ebay bla bla and i said " Well try and get your money off me " and drove home piss well and truly boiling........furious
Any way the cheeky KER put it back on the Bay exactly the same ad no mention of the damage etc

Perhaps you should have killed him, and then eaten him, and then shagged him, and then killed him again?

Should you not have HPI'd it before bidding?

I ask because pretty much the same thing happened to me, and the general consesus was that it was my fault for not checking, and the seller had no obligation to declare it....

Luckily, the seller apologised, I walked and we left each other +ve feedback.

I think "item not as described" is a viable get out clause for ebay auctions.

And that's why I still don't have an ebay account.

(Apart from reading adverts with characters the size of my screen and seeing idiotic phrases such as "I have for sale" or "Thanks for reading" or "Good luck".)

To death. You forgot to write 'Kill him to death'.

Then shag him. To death.

heheI got a set of alloys for 41 quid, when similar ones were making 200. No idea why, and the seller didn't seem best pleased for some reason.
