I need to get with the times and move into the wonderful world of HD gaming, so will be getting a new TV as soon as I get paid. But there's so many out there finding the right one is tough. I need:

- maximum of 32 inches
- 1020 HD
- HDMI socket and the more scarts the better
- good for Xbox 360
- under £400
- not that bothered about sound quality as it will be running through an amp
- any make as long as it's good

So far [url=this|http://www.ebuyer.com/product/148946[/url] seems to be the best one. Anything else I should be looking for? Cheers!

Do you really need full 1080 HD on a 32" set?!?

You can get a Panasonic 32LMD70 for under £400. It's a pretty damn good set, not a current model mind but that's why it's cheap.

I have been advised (not by a bloke in the shop) to get 1020 for Xbox gaming as there is a noticeable difference and picture quality is all important. Good call on Richer Sounds as well; I'd forgotten there's one 5 minutes from me

what is 1020? never heard of it myself...

If you're looking for both budget and 32" then I really wouldn't look at full HD 1080...the IQ will be ste.

Don't XB360's run at 720 anyway?

mate you have been misinformed.

Going for a budget set with 1080 is a waste of time on a 32"

Firstly you wont find many 32s with 1080

Second the extra detail is pretty hard to notice on anything less than a 37"

Third a 1080p 32" budget set would be utter crap as I've seen many budget sets that are just plain poor and that's at 720!

You'd be much better off with a decent £400 720 set.

BTW Games on the 360 are not in 1080p they're normally 720p/1080i

The only time a 360 kicks out 1080p signals is when watching dvd's and then it's only an upscaled image so not true HD!

I was looking for a 32 inch tv about three weeks ago. I spoke to Derestrictor as I'd looked at all the 'What TV' threads on here and wanted advice. His advice...

In the 32 inch market now...

It's now sitting in my room, with home theatre system and PS3 and it's absolutely fking brilliant! wink
