04 vxr supercharged 9psi.the car is quick to get to 165mph (autobahn) but then hits a wall with plenty of rpm left. Maybe on a good stretch I may see more but traffic allways gets in the way.
Anyone shed light on what’s holding it back?

You need to log it. What RPM etc? Maybe you are out of gearing or RPM or as mentioned fuel, or power etc..

should pull 175 on the limiter in 5th... running it from circa 140 in 6th will make hard work since 6th is geared so high, you need to change into top at the highest possible rpm in 5th to give the engine a fighting chance of pulling 6th. Jezz is very good at this!

that speed was done in 6th between 4-5k.I have seen 140+ at 5k in 5th so maybe next time will take it to the limiter in 5th but may need some ear protection from the charger haha.oh and its running on shell 100 octain.

Be interested if this is true. I saw 165 on the dial on the autobahn recently, but felt sure that it was faster, as this time the Wortec Focus kit had been fitted. Wasn't looking too often at the dial to be honest, was more concerned with the view up front (and behind!)

This is what I think happens.

The car is designed for kmh not mph, on the kmh dash the speed goes up to 265kmh ish. I think that the software in the car does not recognise anything above 265kmh thus when you convert that to mph 165mph is the max indicated speed.

I have a bog standard VXR 6L and am thinking about a s/c, bit worried now as mine pulls 165 plus in 5th (GPS) on the autobahn anyway, I would have hoped the supercharger would make a big difference and let it pull 6th to a greater degree.
Interestingly my speedo is spot on according to the GPS.

Maybe the title of this thread should be changed to "doesn't run out of puff at 165" so as not to put off folk who are thinking buying into our supercar

I really wish I'd known this before my euro trip in July. Would love to know what I actually achieved, guess I should have set up the sat nav to show actual speed before I left.

Surely this error needs to be corrected - come on Vauxhall - come up with some updated software

Just a brief point from experience, I dunno about the needle on the dial stopping at 165, but the digital speed on the display definately goes higher. My 04 CV8 has done several times.
