Can anyone recommend a good hotel within 1hr of Miami Airport, will be staying there 4 nights and then back on plane to Boston....been looking at some on Miami beach and theres loads so after some opinions.

You've got to be at South Beach! Ritz Carlton, Tides or the Marriott.

Went in the Colony for lunch a few years ago, don't know what it's like to stay at but it's a gorgeous building.

It's just 20 miles North up the 95 from Miami and has an awesome revolving rooftop tower restaurant.

Fort Lauderdale itself is great - I've stayed there 3 or 4 times in the past. If you have time, go for a motroboat trip on the intracostal waterway it's a veritable drool-fest of gorgeous riverside homes, nearly all with their own dock!

If you've not been before then for a half-day trip, head north to Boca Raton - the entire town is pink! (Only in America! )

My GF and I are hoping to head FLA-ward in November, for an out of-season visit to the Mouse! I want to finally see a Jai-Alai game this time!

I went to Miami last xmas on a company jolly and stayed in the Lowes Miami Beach Hotel. I thought it was a very nice hotel with good rooms, excellent public areas as well as being on the beach. Also really well located for the Miami nightlife.
