A woman has been cleared of sexually assaulting her love rival with an egg whisk.

Carole Watson, 41, denied holding the victim and her boyfriend hostage at her flat in Cavendish Place, Eastbourne, in November last year.

Ms Watson, who now lives in Welling, Kent, was found not guilty of sexual assault after a trial at Hove Crown Court.

She was also cleared of making threats to kill and stealing £40 from the alleged victim, who cannot be named for legal reasons. "
