I think the cerbs having a strop.... I've not used it for the last 2 weeks due to work and vehicles being in the wrong place etc etc. Anyway just driven it over to gatwick and back and the rev counter is reading really low to the point when you stop at a junction it is sat at 0.

Any ideas. frown

SOunds like a 100Amp fuse problem to me.

Should be a quick fix..........

Right well I've changed the fuse and the fuse holder after snapping one of the posts off mad and its still the same frown

Could it just be the battery is low as I've not used it for a few weeks?

I've also ordered a ECU cable so I should be able to see if the battery's getting charge.

How often do the Rev counters break or is it more likely to electrical.

Any ideas.

PS cut my arms to bits changing that fuse frown what a rubbish place to put it......

It could be that the battery is low, or that the alternator is on its way out. When the cerb is on tickover I don't think it charges the battery, which is why sat in traffic with wiper, lights on are not recommended.

Mind you, who wants to be in traffic anyway?

But tickover is around 900rpm.At that rate, its getting amps in to the battery.

I had similar symptoms to this with no charging occurring on the battery , and first thoughts were the alternator was gone.
Turned out to be the wiring from the diode / switch pack on the alternator ( which switches the alternator over to charging) is wired directly through the dashboard bulb on the rev counter (or speedo I forget which).

The bulb itself was fine but the wiring loom had fractured halfway along where it was ty-wrapped to the dash board cross brace

took a while to find

Right I've just connected the software stuff up to the car and its telling me 13.75- 14.00 volts when running and 12.5 ish volts when off which would suggest its charging ok.

Its been a bad month 1 bent wheel some french bint drove into the front of it and I've just put a nice scratch in the boot taking it out the garage furiousweeping
