A Sticky would be nice here....

When asking for information or advice, could posters please at least give the viewers some details about the car etc ???

It might help to get a better or quicker response.

Too many posts appear, asking things like "How do I remove superspecialvalve from my car ?"

Every car is different, some work is easy, some not. Some require special tools, some do not.
Dont assume we have the faintest idea what your car is....because 99% of the time, we wont !!!!

Help the people help you.

A sticky isn't going to make any difference to them. After 10 years of helping thousands of people on internet forums and Usenet I've concluded that someone who's too dumb to realise that the car details are going to affect the answer is also likely to be too dumb to make any use of the advice or do the job properly himself anyway.

I treat it much like Darwinian natural selection nowadays. If you can't be bothered to post a coherent and detailed question I'll spend my limited time helping someone else. The hard of thinking weed themselves out of the online information pool by themselves.
