GM Partsworld - you'll need to find a gearbox - why overdrive?

With a decent big-block (like a crate 572!!), you'll be wanting a Ford 9" back end, and that'll pull a 3.25:1 diff, which will be plenty high-enough geared with a direct top box like a Muncie M22 "Rock Crusher". You could go for a T56 box, and then run a lower ratio diff, but it's not as strong as the M22, and weighs much much more (it's much much bigger!).

Maybe you already got this sorted out but I am using a 502 big block and a Muncie M20 gearbox in a sprint car.
Engines can be had from RealSteel and from the various american car specialists. I got my engine direct from GM Performance Parts and had it shipped over.

Muncie 4 speed gearboxes can take a LOT of torque and they range from the bog standard secondhand / reconditioned M20( which can be had from the same american specialists), through the brand new "supercase" M20s that can be imported from the states, to the "Supercase" M22 which has close ratios and semi-straight-cut gears (most unlikely to find a second hand M22).

Overdive gears are much much harder to find without very great expense, but a big block can run a very long diff as a previous poster pointed out.

I run a M22 "Rockcrusher" with all of the motorsport case mods, etc.. and bought mine direct and brand new from the 'States.

I used www.5speeds.com for mine, after doing some searching, and asking opinions.

Worked out at about £1100 shipped by air freight.
