I've had a 4 ltr Griff for some time now and want to take part in track days. Castle Combe is relatively close to me but I'd like to try an airfield first (less daunting/large run-off's etc). I see easytrack do them but they always seem to be up North or South East. Does anyone know of any airfield days that are organised in the South West (I live in Taunton). I wanted to drive the car to and from the circuit so the closer to me the better. If anyone can point me in the right direction I'd greatly appreciate it.

Hi Jamie

Motorsports Events ( www.motorsport-events.com ) run airfield days at Hullavington (nr Chippenham) and Colerne (I think). I've done Hullavington and quite enjoyed it. Track days are quite different and although daunting in terms of run off they do "encourage" you to drive within your limits and approach the "edge" more gradually (and from the right side!) I spun off several times on the airfield - only spun off once in 3 track days. I actually prefer track days as the courses are so much more interesting than airfields but I know what you mean.
