Just curiosity from this thread:
http://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?h=0&a...

You have all had them for a few months now.
Do you wear them?
Any interesting stories from them?
Glad you bought them?

Im genuinely interested as I never understood it in the first place.

As the chap who had them made up, I can answer truthfully..

1) I've never worn mine
2) Probably never will
3) I've still got a load in the garage
4) I'm down about £100

But it was all a bit of fun and sometimes, you've just got to do something daft and put a smile on your face..

Do I regret it?

Nope!

Good response.
Surely though, as a penalty for mishandling your family finances you should be made to wear all of them until they are worn out so as not to have wasted them.

Or even better, and I can't believe I am buying into this thing, put them all into a charity clothing bin (one which ships them overseas to third world countries) and see if any Phers spot them in the far reaches of the world.

Do you realise the ICMFP mayhem that might result? Anyway, I didn't think people on PH go anywhere near poor people?

Yes they do. There are special places you can go. I think they call them 'Africas' and they will drive you around in a reinforced off road vehicle where you can see these things in thier natural habitat.
Supposed to be a pretty good way of making you feel good about yourself from what i hear.

Oxfam. Probably will be seen on Comic Relief 2009 worn by a 12 year old African lad sporting an AK-47

I wore mine at Le Mans classic, at work, in China, in Korea and to various pubs.
I'm going to print out a precis of the story because I'm fed up recounting it zillions of times!

Seemed like a bit of fun at the time, but the story seems to have ground to a halt now.

Yes, I know how sad it is, but I bought it so I'm going to wear it a few times before it's used for a cleaning cloth!

There's one thing worse than poor people and that's poor people with gherkins on them. I always have to pick it out and in doing so the lettuce falls from their purulent, sweating folds.

I've worn mine to several events where I knew PH'ers were going to be, and several where they weren't.

Yes people do ask who Dave is.

Actually, I did put one in the charity clothes bin as one kind chap paid for one and asked me to exactly that! smile At least he was forthright and honest enough to say he wouldn't be wearing his!! biggrin

Unlike a number of people who committed to purchasing them and then conveniently forgot/couldn't be bothered to go through with it... rolleyes (Hence me being out of pocket!)shootfrown

It would be good actually to take it away with you whenever you go somewhere and see if we can get some pics and a global map of people wearing them in strange places!!

I'm off to the USA in about 6 weeks so I'll see if I can get anything interesting!!

Maggit's the superstar... he's got proof of wearing the t-shirt at the holy shrine of CY's bunker!! Now that's dedication! (or stalking...one of the 2!!) laugh
