repairing body damage where to start pls?
Discussion
During a run out to Wales and back last weekend the car sustained some damage on the nearside rear wing down by the wheel. I can only assume it was a rogue stone as the bang was pretty loud, and it left quite a mark...see here: http://www.mediafire.com/imageview.php?quickkey=af...
I'm in Bewdley near Kidderminster, and I don't have a clue where to take it or what to do! Can you tell I'm a novice owner?
The car is going to Paul Matty tomorrow for a service, so I shall ask there, but where would you go please that you trust to care for the car, and of course do a good job.
Thanks in advance.

He's right, link no worky, but if the fibreglass is intact, and a localised repair would suffice, you won't find more highly-skilled repairers (IMHO) than the trainers at the ChipsAway training centre, on the Hoo Farm Industrial estate in Kidderminster...
Carl in the training centre there has literally decades of experience in bodyshops and SMART repair. Many years after training under him I'm still quietly in awe of what he can achieve with filler, paint and lacquer...

Eep, it rather isn't. That would need re-matting from the back, GRP tissue from the front and some intricate filler work before painting. It's not a traditional ChipsAway repair for that reason... I'm sure if you ask Carl with fluttered eyelashes it's within his skill level though - fingers crossed for you he'll take it on, even if he can't show the before and after to his current batch of students...

Whilst at Paul Matty's, Frank from Option 1 went to quote for the repair.
£300.00 + VAT basically. Guaranteed repair also. A lot for a rogue stone, but it is involved I suppose. Will go to Hoo farm Chips away also thank you.
Also, the chip defelcting material on each side...where can you get those from please? Easy enough to remove and then place the new ones on?
Thanks all.

He said that in all honesty it was beyond the area they specialise in so I was referred onto another guy in Kidderminster.
Annoyingly his card is in the garage with his details, but he is in Lisle Avenue, Kidderminster. Rob is the name.
Anyway, he quoted £200 all in
I felt confident in him and his approach, so I shall almost certainly go with him when I scrape the money together.I've just fitted the Eliseparts ones for just over £20 a pair.Takes a bit of time because of the contours of the body to fit, but came up fine. I was quoted £35 each !!!!! plus vat from B&C for a bit of plastic. In all honesty a big stone like the one that hit your car is not going to be protect by a thin plastic sheet, but it has done a good job at camoflaging the already chips there on mine.
