Get their address so we can "send the boys round"....

Can you imagine admitting to your mates what you do for work ! Bloody hell, I'd rather say I was a homosexual VAT inspector than admit that I developed speed cameras for a living !!

What's the betting the system ignores the engineer's number plates? (On the new digital recognition jobs, obviously)

Well Nick here comes a confession I own a medium sized engineering company in Kent and guess what !!! Last year we manufactured a high bred camera developed from Gatso. These beasts are regulary seen by a lot of you at various sites around the country and always get plenty of attention. Oh well thats it for now I might put up the rest of the story latter if the responses warrent it.

OK the story behind it is that Morpheous came to us just before they launched Geodesy with the idea of launched at the World Super Bikes a few years ago. They wanted a couple of full size realistic speed cameras with strobe lights in as crowd pullers to sit on the edges of the stand, obviously we had no drawings or plans for the beasts so a few digi phots later and half hour with a tape at the side of the road followed by a week in the workshops created the all bells and whistles flashing buggers you may have seen at exhibitions and shows.

You should know I wouldn't have gone over to the dark side and would be working for the good guys

The company is Astucia www.astucia.co.uk

The orginal Catseye speedtrap trial was carried out at a "secret location" in Spain. I believe UK tests were conducted in Clapham.

The system made the news and was reported by the BBC last year:

Working Lunch - a really funny show. Especially when their "limited budget" stage sets fall apart whilst on air.
