Having just been away for two weeks (gutted) how long do you lot go without using the Cerb?

Any special precautions I should take if not using for 3 weeks or so (Can't see it coming out this weekend?)

Cheers
DB

Is it on charge?

Exercise caution with right foot if you have been using an "ordinary" car in the interim.

No it's not on charge, something I aim to address this weekend.

I will excercise caution as always, I use a pushbike all week biggrin

Also, other than the usual warm up proceedure, anything else worth considering when not being run for weeks at time?

I work offshore, so mine can go for up to 3 weeks unused. I leave it garaged, its not on charge . I leave the boot open window down and usualy the bonnet unlocked in case the battery goes flat. Its usualy ok. Just adhere to the warm up precautions and should be ok.

The window and boot open ensures you can get in if the battery does go flat but probably forfeit's your insurance cover if it was stolen, even if in a locked garage.

Trickle-chargers are a must if you leave the car off the road for any length of time.

I leave mine for up to three months at a time, always on a trickle charge. I tend to turn the engine over first before firing up as it's an S6 engine and I want to get some oil to the top.

In two and a half years of ownership, it's never failed to start.

I leave mine for 3 months at time as I work away on ships.
I just disconnect the battery before I leave and then when i return home re-connect and (thouch wood) it always fires up without problems.

Sometimes I have had a few problems with the accelerator cable seizing up, or the steering feeling stiff for the first few miles but nothing major.

I have had it for over 4 years now.

when you do take it out, give it a good run, to top up the life in the battery as it may be low if you dont charge it while its standing

I store my car away every winter (end of october to the beginning of april), a Cerbera isn´t the best car the drive in snow and ice.

If you look at this topic I have made a little description of what to do before storing the car:

http://www.pistonheads.co.uk/gassing/topic.asp?h=0...

I have never had any problems with my car or the boats when they have been started in the springtime. The boat is 19 years now and I have owned it for 16 years. The car is a 99 which I bought in september 2005, before the Cerbera I had a 350i in 4 years that was stored the same way as I do with the Cerbera. I never had any problems with the 350i either.
