Yesterday I sprinted out of the office to catch a visitor before he left - as I reached the door, my hand missed the handle but my brain decided not to make the connection...

Hand Miss = Door Not Open = STOP Running banghead

My legs carried on and I smashed my face straight into the edge of the door. What with it being partly opened, I didn't hit it at an angle so I just stopped dead and remember being on the floor. Stunned. headache

Don't think I was knocked out but I can't remember falling hehe

Anyway... I've ended up with a red line on my face running from my cheekbone to the bottom of my jaw, and it's mega sore. Just wondered if there were any pointers I could check for if I've broken any bones.

I know people say you know when you've broken a bone but I've never felt anything before that marked pain out as being 'broken bones' (admittedly only fingers, knuckles, ribs and oh yeah, a fractured jaw!).

Anyway, feel free to laugh at my misfortune smile

Can't be arsed... last time I had a problem that I thought needed X-Ray it turned out to be a tendon. Don't want to sit in A&E for hours if it's just a bump.

Sure, use the paper bag if necessary. Just cut holes so we can see the wounds.

Firstly, bad luck.

As I understand it you need to 'see through' the skin and stuff with an 'X-ray'.

I think they have them at your local A&E. In a hospital.

Edit: just read your reply to Soovy. Fair do's.

Minor Injuries Unit, or A&E.

Not a motoring based forum. They'll only advise you to stick a V8 in it.

Too late to make the gag about the office getting you back frown

Reminds me of when my Dad ran full tilt into the boot lid of his Mondeo. I had to lie down I was laughing so hard. Glued his cut shut after though smile

Even better, quite apart from thinking you are a violent nutter, the hottie in the office down the hall now thinks you are a self harmer too. Go you KR. Any important meetings over the next few days, where you may need to explain the bruising on your face?
